Danish dramatist and stage and film actor Nicolas Bro was born on March 16, 1972. In the 2011 movie War Horse, directed by Steven Spielberg, he portrayed a German soldier. He is well-known for his television roles as Freddie in The Bridge (2015), Ditlev Gothardt Monrad in 1864 (2014), and Thomas Buch in The Killing (2009). In the 2025 Netflix series The Asset, he plays Folke.
His father is actor Christoffer Bro, and his mother is Danish actress Helle Hertz. He was raised in an acting family. Both his brother Anders Peter Bro and sister Laura Bro are actresses.
He began attending the Danish National School of Performing Arts (Statens Teaterskole) in 1994 and completed his studies there in 1998.
