Biography:

Actress and model Gimi George, often known by her stage name Miya George, is an Indian who primarily works in Malayalam cinema with a small amount of Tamil cinema. She began her acting career as a jury member for multiple television series and in supporting roles in soap operas.

Her first cinematic roles were in short films, including Doctor Love (2011), Ee Adutha Kaalathu (2012), and Oru Small Family (2010). In 2012, she won the title of Kerala Miss Fitness and starred in her first leading role in the Malayalam movie Chettayees.

Miya was born in Dombivli, Mumbai, the daughter of George Joseph and Mini George. Her father was an engineer in a Syro Malabar Catholic family. She later relocated to Pala in Kottayam when she was four years old. She attended St. Mary’s Higher Secondary School and Sacred Heart Girls High School in Bharananganam for her education.

She earned her master’s degree in English literature from St. Thomas College in Palai and her bachelor’s degree from Alphonsa College in Palai. Gini, her older sister, is a Bangalore resident and is wed to Lijo George.

Due to COVID-19 constraints, Miya married businessman Ashwin Philip in a straightforward ceremony at St. Mary’s Basilica Church in Ernakulam on September 12, 2020.A son was born to them in July 2021. On September 21, 2021, two months after her father George Joseph passed away,
