Milan Luthria

Biography:

Milan Luthria is an Indian film director, screenwriter, and producer who has made a name for himself through Hindi cinema. Born to the famous director and producer Raj Khosla, he was subsequently adopted by Arjun Luthria (brother of famous actor Sudhir). His mother is related to the famous filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt which makes him a member of the famed Bhatt film family.

He is a cousin to famous film personalities including Alia Bhatt, Pooja Bhatt, and Emraan Hashmi. Starting his professional journey as an assistant director for Dharmesh Darshan for the movie Lootere, Milan made his debut as an independent director with the immensely successful action thriller Kachche Dhaage in 1999 starring Ajay Devgn and Saif Ali Khan. Having directed for over two decades, he has been recognized as one of the best commercial directors in Bollywood having directed hits such as Chori Chori in 2003, Taxi No. 9211 in 2006, Hattrick in 2007, Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai in 2010, The Dirty Picture in 2011, Once Upon ay Time in Mumbai Dobaara! in 2013, Baadshaho in 2017, and Tadap in 2021.

His cinematic vision has always been appreciated for its rich visuals, powerful character arc, distinct retro vision and the unique combination of commercial success and emotional engagement in his films.Milan entered the world of digital entertainment with Sultan of Delhi (2023) a historical crime drama on Disney+ Hotstar, which is an adaptation of Arnab Ray’s novel Sultan of Delhi: Ascension.
