Manu Rishi Chadha is an Indian actor, lyricist, and script and dialogue writer known for his work in Hindi films. Born on January 3, 1971, he trained under theatre director Arvind Gaur for six years.
Rishi won the Filmfare Best Dialogue Award and the IIFA Best Dialogue Award in 2009 for “Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!” He began his acting career in Delhi with the Asmita theatre group, performing in over 40 plays directed by Arvind Gaur.
His notable stage performances include Girish Karnad’s “Rakt Kalyan,” Mahesh Dattani’s “Final Solutions,” Swadesh Deepak’s “Court Martial,” William Shakespeare’s “Julius Caesar,” Dharamvir Bharati’s “Andha Yug,” Dario Fo’s “Accidental Death of an Anarchist,” and Eugene O’Neill’s “Desire Under the Elms.”
In 2001, he moved to Mumbai, making his Bollywood debut as a doctor in “Saathiya.” Since then, he has appeared in more than 25 films, including recent hits like “Fukrey 3” and “Bhagwan Bharose” in 2023. Additionally, he has featured in web series such as “United Kacche” and “Shehar Lakhot.”
