Former Indian actress Mallika Kapoor primarily worked in Malayalam, Tamil, and Kannada cinema industries in South India. She has also made a few Telugu and Hindi movie appearances.
Punjabi middle-class parents reared Kapoor. Her mother stays at home and her father is employed in the merchant marine. Her degree is in fashion design.
She made her screen debut with actor Prithviraj Sukumaran in the Malayalam film Albudhadweep. Her major role in Azhagai Irukkirai Bayamai Irukkirathu, with Bharath, was her Tamil debut.
She later starred with Arjun in Vathiyar. Her first Telugu appearance was in Allare Allari, alongside Allari Naresh. 2008 saw her make a comeback to the Malayalam film industry with Madambi.
To date, she has acted in two more Tamil movies: Vathiyar, which was released on Diwali, and Arputha Theevu (a Malayalam dubbed film), which was released in September 2006.
