German actress Leonie Benesch was born on April 22, 1991. Babylon Berlin, The Crown, Around the World in 80 Days, and The Teachers’ Lounge are just a few of the films and television shows in which she has appeared. She won the 2023 German Film Awards’ Best Performance in a Leading Role for her performance in the latter.
Benesch portrayed Eva in the 2009 Golden Palm-winning movie The White Ribbon. Her performance was praised by film critics as “a discovery.” She was given both a “New Faces Award” and the American “Young Artist Award” for her work. She costarred with Bruno Ganz and Senta Berger in Sophie Heldman’s 2010 film Colours in the Dark and in Philip Koch’s play Picco.
