Biography:

Lakshmi Rai, known by her professional name Raai Laxmi, is an Indian actress and model. She is primarily active in the Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi film industries.

Raai Laxmi was born in Bangalore, Karnataka, to parents Ram Rai and Manjula Rai. Her family later moved to Belgaum. She comes from the Saurashtrian Kutchi community.

In 2005, Raai Laxmi made her film debut with the Tamil movie “Karka Kasadara.” She continued to work in various Tamil films, including “Kundakka Mandakka” (2005), “Dharmapuri” (2006), and “Nenjai Thodu” (2007).

Her Kannada film debut was in “Valmiki” (2005) alongside Shiva Rajkumar. In 2008, she appeared in more substantial roles in films like “Velli Thirai” and “Dhaam Dhoom,” where she received positive feedback for her portrayal of a lawyer.

Raai Laxmi ventured into Malayalam cinema with “Rock n’ Roll” (2007) and later appeared in successful movies like “Annan Thampi” (2008) and “Evidam Swargamanu” (2009). She also acted in Tamil and Malayalam films in subsequent years, with notable roles in “Mankatha” (2011) and “Julie 2” (2017). In 2021, she starred in the Tamil horror film “Cinderella.”
