Biography:

Kenny Basumatary is an Indian actor, filmmaker, and musician known for his work primarily in the Assamese film industry. He was born on February 7, 1977, in Guwahati, Assam, India. Kenny initially pursued a career in engineering but later found his passion for acting and filmmaking.

Kenny Basumatary gained recognition with his debut film “Local Kung Fu” in 2013, which he not only acted in but also wrote and directed. The film, a martial arts comedy set in Assam, was made on a shoestring budget and gained a cult following for its unique storytelling and humor. Kenny’s portrayal of the lead character, Charlie, showcased his acting skills and comedic timing.

Following the success of “Local Kung Fu,” Kenny Basumatary went on to star in and direct its sequel, “Local Kung Fu 2” (2017). He also appeared in other Assamese films, including “Suspension” (2015) and “Shakira Ahibo Bakultolor Bihuloi” (2018), further establishing himself as a prominent actor in the regional cinema.
