Biography:

Kathir is an Indian actor known for his appearances in Tamil language films. He achieved recognition with his lead role in “Madha Yaanai Koottam” (2013) and received critical acclaim for his performances in “Kirumi” (2015), “Vikram Vedha” (2017), “Pariyerum Perumal” (2018), and “Sigai” (2019). In 2022, he starred in the Prime Video thriller series “Suzhal: The Vortex.”

Born and raised in Erode, Kathir completed his basic education at Bharathi Vidya Bhavan and pursued Civil engineering at Kumaraguru College of Technology, Coimbatore.

Kathir made his acting debut with “Madha Yaanai Koottam” during his college days, earning critical praise for his portrayal of a village youngster. He garnered further acclaim for his performance in the thriller film “Kirumi” (2015), which was also appreciated at international film festivals.

In the following years, Kathir appeared in various films, including “Ennodu Vilayadu,” “Vikram Vedha,” and “Pariyerum Perumal,” which brought him national recognition and applause for his outstanding acting skills.

In 2019, he showcased his versatility in roles with films like “Sigai,” “Sathru,” and “Bigil,” where he played a football coach. Despite some mixed reviews, Kathir continued to impress audiences with his fresh approach and meticulous acting.

He further expanded his acting prowess by starring in the Amazon Prime Video series “Suzhal: The Vortex,” created by Pushkar-Gayathri, receiving widespread acclaim and positive responses from both critics and viewers.

Continuing to make noteworthy choices in scripts and performances, Kathir’s film “Jada” (2019) received attention, while “Sarbath” was praised as a family entertainer.

He continued to captivate the audience with his screen presence in “Thalaikoothal” (2023), which depicted a rural backdrop and earned success for its poignant drama. Kathir’s acting skills and script selection continued to impress, solidifying his position as a fresh and meticulous actor.
