Indian film editor Kasivishwanathan was born on January 28, 1968, and has edited films in the languages of Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam. Kasivishwanathan began his career in film as K. Narayanan, a Malayalam editor,’s assistant. Later on, he collaborated with N P Satish on movies like Kuruthipunal (1996) and Thevar Magan (1992) as an assistant editor. Later, he worked with A. Sreekar Prasad on movies in Kannada, Oriya, and Sinhalese, among other languages.
His first editing project was Kamal Haasan’s Aalavandhan (2001), where he experimented with motion capture and animation techniques. He later worked on Pammal K. Sambandam (2002), a romantic comedy. He was awarded the Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Editor in 2004 for his work on his debut picture, which came out in 2001.
Later on, Kasivishwanthan worked as an editor for Duet Movies on a number of Prakash Raj films. He performed under the brand in films such as Abiyum Nanum and Mozhi. Since then, he has frequently worked with directors such as Siruthai Shiva’s Veeram, Suseenthiran, Radha Mohan, and Seenu Ramasamy Sundar C Myskin. He has collaborated on films to date with a variety of directors, both seasoned veterans and up-and-coming ones. He debuted as an actor in Maaveeran Kittu (2016), directed by Suseenthiran, in 2016.
