Kasivishwanathan’s journey in the world of cinema began when he entered the industry as an assistant to the respected Malayalam editor, K. Narayanan. His early experiences in the field led him to work as an associate editor on prominent films like “Thevar Magan” (1992) and “Kuruthipunal” (1996), where he collaborated with N. P. Satish. Later on, he continued to hone his craft under the guidance of the highly regarded A. Sreekar Prasad, contributing his editing skills to films in various languages, including Oriya, Sinhalese, and Kannada.
Kasivishwanathan’s journey as an editor reached a significant milestone when he made his debut as an editor in Kamal Haasan’s “Aalavandhan” (2001). In this project, he embarked on an experimental approach, exploring innovative techniques involving animation and motion capture cameras. Following this, he worked on the romantic comedy “Pammal K. Sambandam” (2002). His outstanding work on “Aalavandhan” earned him recognition, leading to the Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Editor in 2004, for the year 2001.
Subsequently, Kasivishwanathan developed fruitful collaborations with notable figures in the industry, particularly Prakash Raj’s production company, Duet Movies. He contributed his editing expertise to films like “Mozhi” and “Abiyum Nanum.” Over the years, he has maintained enduring partnerships with a range of directors, including Radha Mohan, Suseenthiran, Seenu Ramasamy, Sundar C, Mysskin, and Siruthai Shiva, particularly for the film “Veeram.”
In 2016, Kasivishwanathan ventured beyond his role as an editor, trying his hand at acting in Suseenthiran’s “Maaveeran Kittu” (2016), marking his debut as an actor.
