Jacob Gibson

Biography:

Jacob Romero Gibson (born July 11, 1996) is an American actor best recognized for his portrayal of Usopp in the Netflix series One Piece (2023).

He earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting from the California Institute of the Arts in 2015.

Gibson took on the role of Emmett Till in The Carolyn Bryant Project, a two-person stage production by Nataki Garrett and Andrea LeBlanc that revisits the 1955 encounter between Till and Carolyn Bryant. The play premiered at REDCAT in 2018 and was later streamed online in 2020, where it was named a New York Times Critic’s Pick.

Between 2019 and 2020, he appeared as AJ Delajae in 15 episodes of the television series Greenleaf.

In 2023, he began playing Usopp in Netflix’s live-action adaptation of One Piece, inspired by the manga series of the same name.
