Ganapathi S. Poduval

Biography:

Ganapathi S. Poduval, born on March 15, 1995, is an Indian actor active in the Malayalam film industry. He gained recognition for his performances in movies such as Vinodayathra (2007) and Pranchiyettan & The Saint (2010), as well as for his significant role in Chithrasalabhangalude Veedu (2008).

His journey in cinema commenced with dubbing work for Santhosh Sivan’s Anandabadram. Later, he was introduced as a child actor by Santosh Sivan in the bilingual film Before The Rains. However, it was his role in Vinodayathra, directed by Sathyan Anthikkad, that propelled his career forward.

Poduval also ventured into children’s cinema with Chithrashalabhangalude Veedu, directed by Krishnakumar, and expanded his horizons to Hindi cinema with The Waiting Room, helmed by Maneej Premnath.

Having portrayed roles as a child artist in various films including Pranchiyettan & The Saint, Mallu Singh, and Alibhai, Poduval transitioned into character roles in movies like Kamattipaadam, Puthan Panam, and Chunkzz. He eventually landed a lead role in the Malayalam movie Vallikudilile Vellakkaran.

Subsequently, he appeared in Mr. & Ms. Rowdy directed by Jeethu Joseph. Amid the COVID pandemic, he directed a short film titled “Onnu Chirikku” and acted in Mridul Nair’s Malayalam web series Instagraamam alongside Deepak Parambol. Furthermore, he starred in and co-wrote Jan.E.Man (2021), directed and written by his elder brother Chidambaram.
