Krishnakumar Ramakumar, also known as Five Star Krishna, is an Indian actor renowned for his roles in Tamil films, particularly in supporting characters. His debut came in the Mani Ratnam-produced movie “Five Star” in 2002, where he portrayed a runaway husband. His performance in the film earned him critical acclaim, with reviewers acknowledging his talent, though suggesting room for subtle emotional nuances.
Following his successful debut, Krishna continued to make a mark in the Tamil film industry by taking on significant supporting roles in movies like Cheran’s “Autograph” and playing a student leader in Mani Ratnam’s “Aaytha Ezhuthu.” He also appeared as Dhanush’s brother in the romantic comedy “Thiruda Thirudi.” His career further flourished as he became a regular presence in films directed by Vishnuvardhan, featuring in four consecutive projects. Alongside his film work, Krishna has maintained a parallel career in the advertisement industry.
In addition to his acting career, Krishna ventured into directing and was reported to be working on a gangster film titled “Madras” with actor Kreshna, Vishnuvardhan’s brother, in the lead role. However, this project faced setbacks and did not materialize following a disagreement with the producer. Krishna has also directed a commercial advertisement featuring Kamal Haasan.
