Divya Prabha is an Indian actress who primarily works in Tamil and Malayalam movies. Thanks to her roles in the movies Thamaasha and Take Off, she became more well-known. For her work in the television series Eswaran Sakshiyayi, she was awarded the Kerala State Television Award for Best Second Actress in 2015. In the international competition section of the 2022 Locarno Film Festival, she received a nomination for Best Actress for the Mahesh Narayanan film Ariyippu.
On August 4, 2022, the movie made its world premiere in the Concorso internazionale of the 75th Locarno Film Festival, for which it received a Golden Leopard nomination. Netflix released the movie globally on December 16, 2022. Her next film, All We Imagine as Light, which is helmed by filmmaker Payal Kapadia, has been chosen to compete for the Palme d’Or at the 77th Cannes Film Festival. It is scheduled to debut in May 2024. She plays a major role in the movie.
In 2013, Prabha made her on-screen debut in the movie Lokpal. Prabhu Solomon’s Kayal, her debut Tamil film, was directed by him. She appeared in the Rajesh Pillai-directed movie Vettah in a supporting role. She has a role as a nurse in Take Off. She appeared in supporting parts in the sports thriller Nonsense and the historical drama Kammara Sambhavam in 2018. She performed as an actress in Roshan Mathew’s theater production of A Very Normal Family in 2019. After that, she starred in the film Thamaasha.
