Actress Cécile de France was born in Belgium on July 17, 1975. Her starring roles in High Tension (2003) and Hereafter (2010) brought her international recognition, following her breakthrough in French film with hits like L’Art (délicat) de la Réduction (2001) and Irène (2002).
She was born in Namur and moved to Paris at the age of 17 to study theatre for two years with British director Peter Brook’s assistant, actor Jean Paul Denizon. After that, she attended the acting school ENSATT for three years (1995–1998), first at the Rue Blanche in Paris and later in Lyon. After being found by agent Dominique Besnehard, she starred in popular French films like Irène (2002) and L’Art (délicat) de la Réduction (2001).
