C. Kalyan

Biography:

C. Kalyan is a producer in the Telugu and Tamil film industry. A strong believer of versatility, Kalyan possesses the ability convince and make people stick to the project at hand. He started out his career by working as an assistant director to well-noted directors of the time. His debut in the field came with the movie, “Bavagaru”, starring Suman and directed by Satyamurthy. He became one of the noteworthy people in the industry by producing movies with a certain flair to them such as “Chandamaama”, starring Navdeep and Kajal Agarwal and directed by Krishna Vamsi.

The movie was a huge box-office hit and was remade in both Tamil and Kannada in 2009.

Various other movies such as “Vaddu Bava Thappu”, starring Dr. Rajendra Prasad, “Khaleja”, starring Mahesh Babu and “Yeto Vellipoindi Manasu”, starring Nani and Samantha were some of his most successful projects. His recent releases are “Jyothilakshmi”, starring Charmi and “Uttama Villain”, starring Kamal Haasan. He is the owner of the production house, CK Entertainments, whose latest film is “Loafer”, starring Varun Tej and directed by Puri Jagannadh. The movie is about a wayward son who was taken away from his mother by his father.

His father tells the son that his mother is dead. The boy later finds out that his mother is alive and is related to the heroine. The movie took an entirely different turn from the usual commercial films that are usually released. It came out to be a blockbuster hit and is counted as a hat-trick for the newly introduced actor, Varun Tej. Kalyan was appointed as the president of South India Film Chamber of Commerce, which is the base for the South Indian film industry for two terms in a row. He is the secretary of the Film Federation of India.

C Kalyan was born in the village of Talamanchi in Nellore district. His parents are C Kotayya Naidu and Venkata Subamma. He studied at the Rama Krishna Junior College and had undertaken graduation at Nellore VRC College. Kalyan is also known around for his contribution to charity. He started a 5 lakh health insurance scheme for the member of South Indian film industry. His helping hand to some struggling producers is well known around in the industry.
