Biography:

Pratik Bachan, professionally known as B Praak, is a prominent Indian singer, music director, composer, and producer in the Punjabi and Hindi music industries. He launched his career as a music producer before debuting as a singer with the song “Mann Bharrya”. B Praak has earned numerous awards, including a National Film Award and two Filmfare Awards.

B Praak often collaborates with lyricist Jaani. He made his entry into Hindi cinema in 2019, singing for the movies Kesari and Good Newwz, both featuring Akshay Kumar, and contributed as a guest composer for the film Bala. Born on February 7, 1986, in Chandigarh, his father, Varinder Bachan, was a notable music producer and composer known for his contributions to Punjabi and Hindi pop, folk music, and Hindu bhajans, including the Punjabi film Jatt Punjab Daa. Initially using the name “Prakky B,” Pratik did not gain recognition for his early work.

In 2012, Pratik met lyricist Jaani, and they began their successful collaboration under the name ‘B Praak’. Their first major hit was “Soch,” sung by Harrdy Sandhu in 2013, which was acclaimed as the best Punjabi song of the year.

B Praak has composed and produced many hits for artists like Jassie Gill, Harrdy Sandhu, Amrinder Gill, Gippy Grewal, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ammy Virk, often with Jaani’s lyrics. Notable tracks include “Taara,” “Joker,” “Na Ji Na,” “Ik Saal,” “Do You Know,” “Supna,” “Backbone,” and “Horn Blow”.

In 2018 when his singing career took off, he also composed hits like “Qismat,” “Naah,” “Kya Baat Ay,” “Hath Chummne,” and “Guitar Sikhda”.

B Praak married Meera in 2019 in Chandigarh. They welcomed their first son in 2020 and their second in 2022, who unfortunately passed away at birth. He cites A.R. Rahman as his inspiration and also admires composers like Pritam, Jatin–Lalit, Vishal–Shekhar, and Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy.
