Biography:
Syed Asghar Wajahat, also known as Asghar Wajahat, is a Hindi scholar, fiction writer, novelist, playwright, independent documentary filmmaker, and television scriptwriter. He was born on July 5, 1946. His most well-known works are “Saat Aasmaan” and “Jis Lahore Nai Dekhya, O Jamyai Nai,” which is based on the tale of an elderly Punjabi Hindu woman who is abandoned in Lahore following India and then refuses to leave. He has authored four novels, six collections of plays and street plays, and five collections of short tales.
Asghar Wajahat is a well-known Hindi author and a professor of Hindi at Jamia Millia Islamia in New Delhi. Five novels, six full-length plays, five collections of short stories, a travelogue, a collection of street plays, and a book on literary criticism are among his twenty published works.
In addition, he has written screenplays for movies and led screenwriting seminars. In 2007, Outlook (Hindi) magazine held a survey that ranked him among the top 10 Hindi writers. Numerous Indian and international languages have translated his writings. His English-language collection of short stories, Lies: Half Told (ISBN 81-87075-92-9), has also been released.
