Biography:
Arielle Kebbel (born February 19, 1985) is an American actress and model. She is widely recognized for her television work, with notable roles in Gilmore Girls (2003–2004), The Vampire Diaries (2009–2017), Life Unexpected (2010), 90210 (2011–2013), Ballers (2015–2016, 2019), Midnight, Texas (2017–2018), Lincoln Rhyme: Hunt for the Bone Collector (2019–2020), Rescue: HI-Surf (2024–2025), and Marshals (from 2026).
Her film credits include American Pie Presents: Band Camp, John Tucker Must Die, Aquamarine, The Grudge 2, Forever Strong, The Uninvited, Think Like a Man, Fifty Shades Freed, After We Fell, After Ever Happy, After Everything, and Site.
Kebbel’s mother, Sheri, owns a production company. Kebbel graduated from Crenshaw School in Winter Garden, Florida, and placed as first runner-up in the 2002 Miss Florida Teen USA pageant. Before transitioning into acting, she worked full time as a model and trained at the Lisa Maile Image, Modeling & Acting School. She has since appeared in publications such as Maxim, Men’s Health, FHM, Lucky, and Stuff.
Shortly after relocating to Los Angeles, Kebbel secured her first major acting role as Lindsay Lister on Gilmore Girls, appearing across its third, fourth, and fifth seasons. She went on to work in series including Entourage, Grounded for Life, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, and The Vampire Diaries, as well as ABC pilots Football Wives and No Heroics.
In the mid-2000s, Kebbel appeared in films such as Soul Plane, Be Cool, The Kid & I, Reeker, and American Pie Presents: Band Camp. She gained wider recognition portraying Carrie Schaeffer in John Tucker Must Die and later played the antagonist Cecilia Banks in Aquamarine. In 2006, she starred opposite Sarah Michelle Gellar in The Grudge 2, which was filmed in Tokyo, Japan.
Kebbel later appeared as Emily Owens in the sports drama Forever Strong alongside Penn Badgley. She went on to headline the horror film Freakdog and played Alex Ivers in the American remake of A Tale of Two Sisters, titled The Uninvited. She also starred in The Brooklyn Brothers Beat the Best, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival.
On television, Kebbel joined the fourth season of 90210 as Vanessa and guest-starred on Hawaii Five-0. From 2022 to 2023, she appeared in ten episodes of 9-1-1 as firefighter Lucy Donato. As of 2024, she stars as Emily “Em” Wright on Rescue: HI-Surf, and in 2026 she was cast as Belle Skinner in Marshals.
Kebbel is close friends with actress Torrey DeVitto and shares a lifelong passion for horses, having begun riding at the age of five. She is also active in advocating against horse roundups and slaughter. In April 2025, she publicly confirmed her relationship with actor Zach Roerig, her former co-star on The Vampire Diaries.
