Ahmed Khan, born on June 3, 1974, is an Indian choreographer, producer, director, and writer. Initially an actor, he later transitioned into film choreography and expanded his career to include writing, producing, and directing Bollywood films. In 2019, he was a judge on the celebrity dance show Nach Baliye 9 on Star Plus.
Born in Pune, Maharashtra, Khan began his career as a child actor in Mr. India before shifting to choreography. He worked on notable films like Taal, Ghajini, and Kick. Alongside choreography, he directed Lakeer – Forbidden Lines and the comedy Fool & Final, while also writing and producing Paathshaala and Ek Paheli Leela. His directorial venture Baaghi 2 was a box office success.
Khan also served as a judge on Dance India Dance Lil Master during its third season, where contestants affectionately called him “Pappi King.” In 2019, he was again on the judging panel for the ninth season of Nach Baliye.
He is married to model and producer Shaira Khan, co-founder of Paperdoll Entertainment. The couple, who reside in Andheri with their two sons, have produced Paathshaala and Ek Paheli Leela together.
Khan has survived two near-death experiences. In 2001, he was filming at the World Trade Center just two days before the September 11 attacks. In 2004, he narrowly escaped disaster again when he canceled his stay at a hotel that was later destroyed in the Indian Ocean tsunami.
