Filmmaker, singer, and actor Amar (or Amer) Chadha-Patel was born in the United Kingdom on June 3, 1986. His involvement in the TV shows Willow (2022) on Disney+, the comedy Slip (2023) on Roku, the ITV drama Beecham House (2019), and the Netflix series The Decameron (2024) have led to his recognition. Dashcam is one of his flicks from 2021. Along with being a part of Tom & Amar, he is also in the band Strong Asian Mothers.
While his grandparents resided in a Punjabi Sikh neighborhood in West London, Chadha-Patel grew up between Highbury in North London and Hackney in East London. When he made the decision to pursue acting, he was 29. In 2012, Chadha-Patel teamed up with his buddies Josh “Rogan-Josh” Stadlen and Kalim “Khushi” Patel to form Strong Asian Mothers, an indie electro band. In 2016, they self-released Lynx Africa, their debut EP.
For brands including ASOS, AllSaints, and L’Oreal, Chadha-Patel has directed fashion campaigns and advertisements. At the 2015 London Fashion Film Festival, his film A Brave New Love for The Kooples won Best Cinematography and was nominated for Best Editing and Best Major Brand Production. Together with Tom Allen, Chadha-Patel founded the directing collective Tom & Amar, who helmed the music video for the 2017 single “Hard to Find” by Strong Asian Mothers.

In 2016, they self-released Lynx Africa, their debut EP. In addition to appearing in a few episodes of the Netflix series Sex Education and the Amazon Prime series The Wheel of Time, Chadha-Patel acted in the horror movie Dashcam in 2021. For filmmaker Simon Matthews, he also co-wrote and edited the short film Behind the Mask. It was revealed on Disney+ Day 2021 that Chadha-Patel had joined the cast of Willow, a 2022 television series. In the film, Chadha-Patel played Thraxus Boorman.

In the Comedy Ensemble category (Thraxus Boorman), he was nominated for a joint Canadian Screen Award alongside Zoe Lister-Jones and Tymika Tafari. In 2024, Chadha-Patel played the role of Dioneo, a physician in the medieval dark comedy The Decameron on Netflix. He will soon be seen in the movie William Tell.
