Amina Abdi Rabar
Biography:
Kenyan TV and radio host Amina Abdi Rabar was born in 1989 and resides in Nairobi. Abdi started her career at Homeboyz Radio and has since presented Capital in the Morning for 98.4 Capital FM, Alfajiri for K24 TV, and The Trend for NTV. When needed, she would step in as a senior host despite being a junior presenter. She later received a Saturday night performance.
After spotting Abdi, Chris Kirubi offered her a position as the host of Hits not Homework on 98.4 Capital FM. Prior to her resignation, Abdi presented the program for five years. She co-hosted Capital In The Morning with Fareed Khimani. In 2020, she quit 98.4 Capital FM
Abdi was employed by K24 as well. However, she stopped hosting K24’s Alfajiri Show in 2017, after a two-year stay. Maisha Magic East’s Turn Up with DJ Joe Mfalme has been hosted by Abdi. She started anchoring NTV’s The Trend in November 2017 as Larry Madowo’s permanent replaceme. In the September 5, 2025, episode of The Trend, she announced her retirement from the show and NTV. Together with IK Osakioduwa, Abdi co-hosted the eighth Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Award presentation in Lagos, Nigeria, in 2020.
