Karishma Kotak, a British model, actress, and TV presenter, was born on May 26, 1982, in North West London, England. She comes from an Indian Gujarati background, with her father hailing from Gujarat and her mother from East Africa. Her immediate family, including her mother and younger brother Sunny Kotak, resides in London. Kotak initially had aspirations of becoming a teacher and even enrolled in a teaching course. However, her career path eventually led her in a different direction.

Karishma embarked on her modeling journey at the young age of 16, working on various projects in Essex, including an adult magazine called Just Seventeen. Around the age of 20, she visited India and recognized the immense potential of the Indian fashion industry. While continuing to work on projects and fashion shows in the UK, including regional campaigns and catalog work for brands like Toni & Guy and FCUK, she also took on the role of a presenter for the UK TV show “The Show,” which covered entertainment, movies, and lifestyle.

In September 2005, Karishma made the significant decision to relocate to Mumbai, India, where she quickly made her mark in the Indian fashion and entertainment scene. Within just two months of her move, she was selected to be part of the 2006 Kingfisher Calendar, a prestigious project by the United Breweries Group that was shot in Australia by renowned photographer Atul Kasbekar. Her participation in this calendar shoot catapulted her to fame in the Indian fashion industry.

Subsequently, Karishma Kotak accepted numerous offers for TV commercials, leveraging her excellent complexion and versatility for skin and beauty product advertisements, as acknowledged by celebrity management company Matrix India Entertainment. Her transition from the UK to India marked a significant turning point in her career, allowing her to establish herself as a prominent model and television personality in the Indian entertainment industry.
