Megha Chowdhury, an Indian actress, has appeared in Bengali, Telugu, and Tamil-language movies. She started her career as a sixteen-year-old assistant director for Haseena Parkar (2017) and later worked as a casting assistant for M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story (2016). Her film debut was in the Bengali movie Amar Prem in 2016. In 2018, she was cast in Bala’s Varmaa, the Tamil-language remake of Arjun Reddy (2017), but the film was reshot with a new cast, excluding Chowdhury. Her Telugu debut was in the thriller Marshal, where she played a journalist, although her performance received limited praise. She also starred in the Telugu film Oorantha Anukuntunnaru as a girl next door. Varmaa was released on October 6, 2020, on over-the-top (OTT) platforms, two years after its completion.
