Early Life:
Patani is from a Rajput family of Hindus. Her mother is a health inspector, while her father is a police officer named Jagadish Singh Patani. Khushboo Patani, her older sister, is a lieutenant in the Indian Army. Suryansh Patani, her younger brother, is also a Patani. She attended Amity University in Lucknow to study engineering. She finished as the 2013 Pond’s Femina Miss India Indore’s first runner-up.
Film career:
In 2015, Patani made her acting debut with Varun Tej in the Telugu movie Loafer. She took on the part of Mouni, a young woman who flees her family to avoid being forced into marriage. The movie, which had a $200 million budget and was directed by Puri Jagannadh and produced by C. Kalyan under the banner of C.K. Entertainment, did poorly at the box office, earning only 106 million during its lifetime. The next year, Disha and Tiger Shroff starred in the music video Befikra, which was created by Meet Bros and produced by Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar under the T-Series banner. Aditi Singh Sharma, a vocalist, contributed to the writing and direction of the film Meet Bros.
Patani, Sushant Singh Rajput, and Kiara Advani star in Neeraj Pandey’s M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story, a biographical sports movie based on the life of MS Dhoni, the former captain of the Indian Cricket Team. She portrayed Priyanka Jha, the MS Dhoni character’s deceased girlfriend who perished in a car accident. The movie, which was produced by Fox Star Studios and directed by Neeraj Pandey, opened in theatres on September 30, 2016, and grossed an estimated 216 crore (US$27 million). Along with Sonu Sood, she also appeared in Jackie Chan’s Kung Fu Yoga.
Then, Patani co-starred alongside Tiger Shroff in Baaghi 2, the follow-up to the 2016 film Baaghi, which also starred Shraddha Kapoor and Tiger Shroff. Baaghi 2, which was produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and directed by Ahmed Khan, was released on March 30, 2018, and it made about 258 crore (US$32 million) globally.
She had an appearance in the Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif movie Bharat in June 2019. She began the year 2020 with the release of the action-thriller Malang, costarring Aditya Roy Kapur, Kunal Khemu, and Anil Kapoor. Malang has made 84.50 crore (US$11 million) globally, earning accolades from critics for its music, action sequences, director, and cast performances. It has also become a financial success. She made an appearance in a song in the March 2020 release of Baaghi 3, the third entry in the Baaghi franchise starring Tiger Shroff and Shraddha Kapoor.
Patani next made an appearance in Prabhu Deva’s action movie Radhe, reuniting with Salman Khan as one of the key characters. When it was published as a premium video on demand on Zed Plex through ZEE5 on the same day as Eid al-Fitr, Radhe garnered overwhelmingly poor reviews from both critics and viewers who criticised the plot, writing, directing, and VFX. It was an enormous OTT success. It became the most-watched OTT movie on its first day of release with 4.2 Million views.
She co-starred with John Abraham, Tara Sutaria, and Arjun Kapoor in the 2022 psychological thriller Ek Villain Returns directed by Mohit Suri. The movie debuted to conflicting reviews from reviewers and had a mediocre box office performance. “Ek Villain Returns falls back on the popularity of the Galliyan track to boost its appeal,” Sukanya Verma of Rediff remarked.
Patani has wrapped his filming for Sidharth Malhotra and Karan Johar’s Yodha. She and Suriya have agreed to star in her debut Tamil film, Suriya 42, in the middle of 2022. She’ll appear in the 2024 film Project K, directed by Nag Ashwin and starring Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, and Deepika Padukone.
