Bhaagamathie starring Anushka Shetty became a huge hit, with horror drama at the core. Her director, Ashok made a good name for himself after the movie release. His deft handling of a complex storyline and the way he narrated it in a simple way made the film famous too. The movie’s success is highly attributed to him because, that even though there are no other known stars in the film other than Anushka, the movie received huge reception from fans and normal audience.
Before this movie, Ashok directed Pilla Zamindar, Sukumarudu and Chitrangadha. Pilla Zamindar became a huge hit for him and after that only Bhaagamathie worked out. Many are waiting for him to announce his next. He has many offers from different producers from Telugu Cinema but he decided to go with an International film. He will be making an International film titled, Komgata Maru 1914. During British Raj, in 1914, few Indians decided to flee to Canada in a Japanese Ship, Komgata Maru. They were denied entry into the county. What happened to them and the reasons behind their fleeing and why they did not get an entry is the main plot of the film.
Ashok told to media, “I am happy to be associated with such an emotional film.
