NetflixDelhi Crime is an Indian crime drama series that follows the investigative efforts of the police, created by Richie Mehta and managed creatively by Chirag Shah. It is produced by Golden Karavan, Ivanhoe Productions, Film Karavan, and Poor Man’s Productions. The cast includes Shefali Shah, Rasika Dugal, Adil Hussain, and Rajesh Tailang.
The first season centers on the aftermath of the 2012 Delhi gang rape, while the second season delves into the activities of the Chaddi Baniyan Gang.
Delhi Crime debuted its first two episodes at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival in the Indie Episodic category. It premiered on Netflix on March 22, 2019, garnering critical acclaim for its performances, script, and portrayal of the real-life case that inspired it.
At the International Emmy Awards in November 2020, Delhi Crime made history as the first Indian series to win the award for Best Drama Series. Following its success, the series was renewed for a second season with the original cast returning. The second season premiered on August 26, 2022, with Shah receiving an International Emmy Award nomination for Best Actress.
