Disney+ HotstarAarya is an Indian crime-thriller drama series available on Disney+ Hotstar, co-created by Ram Madhvani and Sandeep Modi, who also directed it alongside Vinod Rawat as co-director. Produced under the Ram Madhvani Films banner in collaboration with Endemol Shine Group, the series stars Sushmita Sen in the lead role and is inspired by the Dutch drama “Penoza.”
The storyline follows Aarya, an independent woman who joins a mafia gang to avenge her husband’s murder and protect her family. The show has garnered critical acclaim and was recently nominated for an International Emmy Award for Best Drama Series. It premiered on Disney+ Hotstar on June 19, 2020. The second season was released on December 10, 2021, and the third season premiered on November 3, 2023.
