Elisha Kriis, also known as Elisha Patel, is an Indian-origin film actress who has worked in American, Hindi, and Telugu films. In the United States, she had notable roles in various films. In 2018, she starred in the human trafficking drama “BorderCross” alongside Lorenzo Lamas and Danny Trejo. She played the main protagonist in the 2018 crime thriller “Body of Sin” and portrayed a cyborg in the 2018 SciFi action film “Ink and Rain”.
Additionally, she appeared in supporting roles in films like “The Recall” starring Wesley Snipes and the comedy feature “Tournament 2019” starring Ricardo Chavira. In India, she was part of the political drama “Wake Up India,” the action thriller “Zanjeer” alongside Priyanka Chopra, the Telugu remake of “Zanjeer” called “Toofan,” and the NDTV Goodtimes adventure travel documentary “Kingfisher Blue Mile”.
Elisha Kriis was born and raised in Gujarat, India, to parents Bhagwati Patel and Jahangir Patel, both former judges in the State of Gujarat. She earned her Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Maharajah Sayajirao University of Vadodara, followed by studio training in Mumbai. In June 2014, Kriis was invited as a speaker at the Beyond Barriers women empowerment conference at College of the Canyons, California.
Her speech emphasized the transformative power of education and empowering others. Kriis’s journey into the entertainment world began with a theater performance in fourth grade, which was later broadcasted on DD1, one of India’s major broadcasting networks. Her passion for exploring different cultures and places influenced her life from an early age.
During her college years, she won fashion and beauty contests sponsored by brands like MTV, Cavin Kare, Westside, and Pantaloons, and she also hosted corporate award shows and women empowerment workshops. After graduating from MSU, she moved to Mumbai to pursue her career in the entertainment industry.
She initiated her career as a host for international travel channels, including Travelxp, Travel Trendz, and NDTV Good Times, producing shows in multiple languages and airing them in various countries across Europe, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia. Kriis made her Hindi film debut with “Wake Up India,” where she portrayed a fearless reporter uncovering a rape scandal involving the Chief Minister.
In 2013, she appeared in the Hindi action film “Zanjeer” and the Telugu movie “Toofan,” alongside Priyanka Chopra, Sanjay Dutt, and Ram Charan. In 2014, Elisha Kriis established her production company, Tigress Pictures, in Hollywood, Los Angeles. The company’s focus is on producing inspirational films, with her first home production being “Barefoot Warriors,” centered around the history and passion of soccer (football) in India.
She continued to work on various film projects, including the 2017 feature film “BorderCross,” which tackled the issue of human trafficking, and the 2018 independent feature film “Body of Sin,” where she played the role of Erica Tate, a cunning con artist. In “Ink and Rain,” a comic fantasy fight arena, she portrayed a cyborg fight handler.
In 2019, she joined Ken Kragen’s Hands Around the World climate change campaign and in 2020, appeared in the Gujarati travel short “Havmore Passport” alongside Malhar Thakar and musician Arpit Gandhi. In 2021, Elisha Kriis hosted a pre-Oscar show called “Hollywood Unlimited” for Disney’s Oscar awards show partner network Star World India. She also directed and produced a short documentary titled “The Fruit of Life,” shedding light on the story of a woman who claimed to have successfully battled breast cancer through the consumption of Graviola Tree leaves.
