Senior actor Jaya prakash Reddy passed away on 8th September, in the early morning hours due to cardiac arrest. He had a severe heart attack and before he could be shifted to an hospital, he breathed his last. The actor started his career on stage in early 1970’s and stayed as a busy stage actor for long period of time. He tried his best to get into the glitz and glamour of Cinema but till Dasari Narayana Rao found him, he couldn’t break into the Industry.
From late 80’s he started getting good roles as one of the comedians or villains. He did films like Jamba Lakidi Pamba, Chitram Bhalare Vichitram. But he did not find a slot to fit in the wave of Kota Srinivasa Rao in early 90’s. He found a good role as Rayalaseema factionist in Preminchukundam Raa and it became a huge turning point in his life. He was approached to play main villain, Veera Raghava Reddy in the film, Samarasimha Reddy. The movie created a sensation and he replaced Kota Srinivasa Rao as villain in the Industry.
As the novelty of playing a person from Rayalaseema started wearing off, he played comedian roles too. He became a character actor but his assets have been comedy and villain roles. He even started acting in serials, lately. The 74 year old actor won awards for his career defining performances and has a place in the hearts of Telugu people as large size villain who could perform in any role, if required. His death creates a huge void in Telugu Film Industry. We give our condolences to his family and hope their find strength to cope up with their loss.
