A web film titled, Sathi Gani Rendu Ekaralu produced by Mythri Movie Makers banner is out on the noted OTT platform Aha. Let’s see how it goes.
Story: Set in Telangana backdrop, the film revolves around a two-acre owner named Sathi. What is the key aspect in Sathi’s story which involves his friend Anji? How will Sathi get heart treatment for his one-year-old daughter? How will car accidents involved in the proceedings turn the fortunes of Sathi, forms the crucial crux of the plotline.
Performances: Jagadeesh Pratap Bhandari is fine in his role as lead actor but the pain in his role has been not presented properly with consistency in the given role. The main drawback of the film is that it lacks emotional connectivity with some uneven presentation.
Mohana Sree Suraaga, Raj Tirandasu, and Aneesha Dama are apt in their respective roles as village people. They perfectly fitted in the given roles as village characters. Their acting and perfection in Telangana dialogues add a realistic flavor to the proceedings to an extent.
Vennela Kishore and Bithri Sathi evoke decent fun but their characters lack proper detailing in the narrative. Other character artists are decent in their respective roles.
Technicalities: The photography work is okay as the rustic texture in the movie is captured nicely. The farming and lens showcase the village atmosphere neatly.
The music composed by Jay Krish registers at parts. Though his sound in the initial parts is fine later he used the same instrument throughout the movie which turns gives a template feels.
Dialogues written by Abhinav are catchy. The dialogues are simple yet in perfect sync with the narrative. The production values for this limited-budget movie are okay by Mythri Movie Makers and so is the case production design work.
Other departments such as costumes and editing work are done decently. The artwork is done nicely though.
Analysis: Written and directed by Abhinav Sathi Gani Rendu Ekaralu lacks a proper flow in the narrative. Keeping aside his daughter’s health problem, the lead actor focuses on other sources of income which looks over the top at the times.
The film is a heavy dose of comedy drama which dilutes the main purpose of the film. Adding to it, the lack of establishment of characters and characterization comes as a major defect of the film.
To summarize, Sathi Gani Rendu Ekaralu is a logically less crime drama that may click among the digital audience given the weekend free time, or else the film fails to create an impact. All we suggest is to skip the film this weekend and look for better options available in the OTT space.
