Plot
British-Indian investigator Jasmeet “Jass” Bhamra is mourning the loss of her child, who was murdered by a heroin addict. She transfers to Buckinghamshire, where Miller gives her the case of Ishpreet, a missing Indian youngster. She interviews Ishpreet’s parents, Daljeet and Preeti Kohli, with her supervisor, DI Hardik “Hardy” Patel, and finds out the boy was adopted. Jass also learns that Patel has ties to the family, specifically to a former drug dealing relative.
The police start an overnight hunt after locating Ishpreet’s last known location at a park using CCTV footage. At daybreak, Patel orders his weary staff to return home and goes into the park with Simon, his subordinate. They find Ishpreet’s lifeless body in a deserted vehicle. On the day of the murder, the police identify the car’s owner as a Muslim man whose nephew, Saquib, is observed using it. It is revealed that he has a history with Patel and is a drug addict. After more research, they discover that Saquib was with Naved, the son of the local Imam, on that particular day. In his interview, Naved discloses that Saquib killed Ishpreet in a fit of wrath while she was bringing them cocaine.

Saquib is let out of jail. As the new lead suspect, Jass concentrates on Daljeet. He took out a sizable life insurance policy in Ishpreet’s name because his transportation business is struggling and he is poor. They discover that he is physically abusing Preeti and that he is having an affair with Indrani. Meanwhile, Daljeet’s relative Prithvi is seen making sexual advances on Preeti. When Daljeet sees this, he kills him out of hatred.
Daljeet strongly denies killing his adopted son when he is imprisoned. Police find Ishpreet’s missing rucksack among his possessions and a burner phone that he used to peddle drugs when they search Prithvi’s home. Preeti, who turns out to have been the genius behind the plan to leave her violent husband, answers a call that was placed on it. She had enticed Prithvi and tricked him into killing Ishpreet. She had also planned for Daljeet to kill Prithvi. After the case has been closed, a traumatized Jass attempts to find closure for the death of her own son.
