TheatreIn 2020, B. V. S. N. Prasad and debutante Subbu will direct and produce the Telugu-language romantic comedy film Solo Brathuke So Better, which translates to “Solo life is so better.”Nabha Natesh and Sai Tej are the film’s stars.
The movie’s principal photography got underway in November 2019, with the majority of the shooting happening in Visakhapatnam. It was originally slated for release on May 1, 2020, but the COVID-19 pandemic caused a postponement. On December 25, 2020, the movie debuted in theatres to a mixed reception from critics.
A student uprising demanding justice for an unidentified act opens the movie. After that, the movie flashes back to 2012, where Virat (Sai Tej) is advising his college’s students to avoid getting romantic and to remain single. He invites them to read Solo Brathuke So Better, his book that offers 108 guidelines for living a “solo” life as a bachelor. His friends and uncle Ramesh, who is married and unable to put up with his wife’s incessant pestering, support him in this endeavour. and he goes on to found the Solo Brathuke So Better union and serve as its leader. Virat’s classmate Rashi makes a proposal to him during the college farewell, but he rejects her, leaving her in tears.
When Virat moves to Hyderabad to start work at an event management company, he finds housing for himself and his friends. When Govind Gowda (Vennela Kishore) invites his friends to his wedding, Virat declines. Still, he winds up at Govind’s wedding as he takes on the role of event manager. Regretfully, the wedding is called off as a result of Govind’s age-related lies and Virat’s antics. Virat becomes irritated when all of his friends eventually get married over time. One evening, he witnesses his idol, the person who inspired the SBSB union, advocating for males to marry on television. Virat returns home after feeling as though his foundation has trembled, only to discover that his aunt has died some months ago and that his uncle is now regretting their frequent arguments. Virat calls his friends over and decides to get married after being influenced by these two incidents. Since Virat was the “villain” in their love stories, no one at their college is ready to marry him despite their best efforts to find a suitable match. His boss is the only person who is willing to marry him, but he isn’t ready because she is older than him.
After persistently pleading with Virat to attend, Govind makes a second appearance and extends an invitation to his upcoming wedding. But the wedding is called off, and Amrutha (Nabha Natesh), the bride, declares her love for Virat in public. Virat is overjoyed and resolves to wed her as well. But after speaking with her, Amrutha informs Virat that she firmly believes in his policies and that it is best to remain single. Virat decides to change her mind after realising that what he was doing was incorrect. She uses Virat’s SBSB policies to foil his attempts to take her to a Titanic painting exhibition and to fight Ravanudu (Ajay). Unable to cope with his loneliness, Virat’s uncle ends his life. With no other option, Virat chooses to tell Amrutha he loves her, but Ravanudu kidnaps her as retaliation for having humiliated him earlier. After taking out the goons, Virat is ready to confess to Amrutha, but she changes her mind, saying her father spoke to her. Virat tells Amrutha everything in an ecstatic state. The SBSB followers then start to riot, to which Virat responds by promising to write 108 principles to make them fall in love. The movie ends with Virat and Amrutha being married.
