Krrish

Story:

Krrish is a Hindi superhero film directed and produced by Rakesh Roshan. It stars Hrithik Roshan in a dual role as father and son, alongside Priyanka Chopra, Naseeruddin Shah, Rekha, Sharat Saxena, and Manini Mishra in supporting roles.

Serving as a sequel to “Koi… Mil Gaya” (2003), it continues the narrative of Krishna (Roshan), inheritor of his father’s extraordinary abilities. While pursuing his love interest Priya (Chopra) to Singapore, Krishna assumes the guise of “Krrish” to conceal his identity while rescuing children from a blazing circus. This act catapults him into the role of a superhero, tasked later with thwarting the villainous plans of Dr. Siddhant Arya (Shah), who has ties to Krishna’s father, Rohit.

“Krrish” aimed to set new benchmarks in Indian cinema with top-tier visual effects and stunts. The music, composed by Rajesh Roshan with background score by Salim–Sulaiman. Shot extensively in Singapore and India, it was released globally on June 23, 2006, with a substantial budget and distribution, marking it as a significant production in Indian cinema at the time.

Receiving positive reviews in India, “Krrish” achieved blockbuster status with a worldwide gross of ₹126 crore, emerging as the second highest-grossing Indian film of 2006. The film garnered multiple accolades, including 8 nominations at the 52nd Filmfare Awards and several wins, notably for Best Special Effects. It also secured recognition at the IIFA Awards and the National Film Award for Best Special Effects. The franchise continued with “Krrish 3,” released in 2013, expanding upon its superhero legacy.
