Khadgam

Story:

“Khadgam,” a 2002 Telugu action drama film directed by Krishna Vamsi and produced by Sunkara Madhu Murali for Karthikeya Movies, showcases Srikanth, Ravi Teja, Prakash Raj, Sonali Bendre, Sangeetha Krish, and Kim Sharma in significant roles.

The movie, featuring music by Devi Sri Prasad, hit theaters on November 29, 2002, and achieved commercial success. It received five Nandi Awards and three Filmfare Awards. The film was also remade in Hindi as “Insan” in 2005.

The movie commences at a terrorist training camp in Pakistan, where a large number of terrorists receive rigorous training from the Pakistani Army in shooting and bomb detonation using cell phones. Among the trainees is Azar Khan, who hails from Hyderabad, India.

After completing his training, Azar is assigned a critical mission to bring back a notorious terrorist named Masood, referred to as the “great soldier of Islam,” who is crucial to their cause. Masood has been arrested by the Indian police in Hyderabad, and Azar is tasked with ensuring his release at any cost. He is told that this mission is sacred and ordained by Allah, to which he agrees.

The story then shifts to Hyderabad, where Koti, an aspiring actor dreaming of a career in the film industry, continually faces rejection from various film studios. His friend Murthy, aspiring to become a director, faces similar struggles.

The two of them, dealing with financial hardship, work odd jobs – Koti as a junior artist and Murthy as an assistant director. They reach a point where they can’t afford the rent for the house they’ve been living in for six months.

Their landlord, M.S. Khaja, who owns a significant general store in the old city, threatens them with false theft charges if they don’t pay the rent by evening, stating that they won’t have to worry about rent in jail.
