Story:

Kapoor and Sons, also referred to as Kapoor and Sons (Since 1921), is a Hindi-language family drama film directed by Shakun Batra. Produced by Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar, and Apoorva Mehta under Dharma Productions, with Fox Star Studios as distributor and co-producer, the film delves into the dynamics of a dysfunctional family.

The cast includes Rishi Kapoor, Sidharth Malhotra, Fawad Khan, Alia Bhatt, Ratna Pathak Shah, and Rajat Kapoor. This film marks the second collaboration between Malhotra and Bhatt after their debut in Student of the Year (2012). The music for the film is composed by Amaal Mallik, Badshah, Arko, Tanishk Bagchi, Benny Dayal and Nucleya. The background score is given by Sameer Uddin.

The plot centers around brothers Arjun and Rahul, who return home to visit their ailing grandfather. The already strained family relationships are further tested when a romantic interest causes tension between the brothers.

Produced on a budget of ₹280 million, Kapoor and Sons was released on March 18, 2016, and went on to gross ₹1.48 billion worldwide, becoming a box office blockbuster. It received widespread critical acclaim from both Indian and international critics.

At the 62nd Filmfare Awards, the film garnered 8 nominations, out of which it won 5 awards, with Rishi Kapoor taking home the Best Supporting Actor award, surpassing his co-stars Fawad Khan and Rajat Kapoor. Kapoor and Sons is available for streaming on Netflix and Amazon Prime Video.
