Gaganam

Story:

“Gaganam” is an action thriller film from India. It was shot in both Tamil and Telugu languages at the same time. Radha Mohan wrote and directed the film, and it was co-produced by Prakash Raj and Dil Raju. The movie was released on 11th February 2011 and was a success both commercially and critically.

The strength of “Gaganam” comes from people’s desire to be right and do or say what is right. It tells the story of regular people from different walks of life who find themselves in an extraordinary situation of turmoil and chaos. Whether it’s an action hero who gets scared in real life or a child questioning the intentions of terrorists hurting innocent people, all these characters connect deeply with the audience.

The plot revolves around the hijacking of a Chennai-New Delhi flight by five terrorists. They demand the plane to be diverted to Rawalpindi, Pakistan. However, due to a technical problem, the flight lands in Tirupati, where they make contact with airport authorities. The National Security Advisor’s team and the National Security Guards (NSG) take control of the situation to negotiate a peace deal with the terrorists for the safety of the passengers.

The terrorists demand the release of Yusuf Khan, an international terrorist held in a high-security prison in Kashmir. They give the Indian government less than 48 hours to accept their demands or face severe consequences. The questions arise: Will the Indian government agree to the demands? What will happen to the civilians on the flight? Will the NSG take action to save the passengers? These questions form the rest of the story in this gripping drama.

The film explores various themes, such as why the government delays important decisions, how the media sensationalizes issues, and, most importantly, how complete strangers come together despite their cultural differences during such incidents.
