Plot
Siva, a truck driver employed by an industrial firm, shares a close friendship with Satish, the brother of the industrialist who employs him. One day, Siva unexpectedly encounters Lakshmi, a sincere and studious woman, at a temple. As the story unfolds, he learns that Lakshmi’s father is arranging a marriage against her wishes. Discovering that Satish genuinely loves Lakshmi, Siva intervenes to prevent the forced marriage, only to realize later that Satish had ulterior motives and did not intend to marry her.
When Siva brings Lakshmi back to the wedding ceremony, suspicions arise about her virtue due to torn clothes. In a selfless decision, Siva decides to marry her to salvage her tarnished reputation. Unfortunately, Lakshmi’s father disowns her, leaving her with a younger sister, Swetha, who stays with their father.
Over time, Lakshmi becomes pregnant and, despite her father’s rejection, informs him of the news. The shock causes her father to suffer a fatal heart attack. Unaware of the tragedy, Siva and Lakshmi leave Hyderabad permanently.
During a stop at Gudur junction, Satish reappears and attempts to assault Lakshmi. In self-defense, she kills him with a knife. Siva takes responsibility for the crime, receiving a five-year prison sentence. Lakshmi, upon her release, faces labor pains and tragically dies during childbirth.
Swetha, assuming responsibility for the child, harbors resentment towards Siva. Upon Siva’s release, he seeks custody of his son, leading to a court ruling in his favor. Swetha eventually proposes marriage to Siva for the sake of the child, but their relationship turns sour. Swetha files for divorce, citing harassment by Siva.
The film then follows a predictable path, culminating in a stereotypical climax.
