Sukumar, the young creative director of Telugu Cinema, is known for his appetite to be different, new and completely creative. He did make films like Arya, Jagadam, 100% Love, Arya-2, Nenokkadine, Nannaku Prematho. All films are either city based or foreign locations based films. They all have a tinge of International culture imbibed into them even though Telugu people are acting and conversing completely in Telugu.
The same thing is pointed out to Sukumar by an elder man and he felt ashamed. Director on the eve of audio release held a press meet along with producers to talk to the press. He said, “I grew up in villages for 28 years and felt ashamed that I never tried to bring my memories on screen. So, Rangasthalam is more like my personal diary than just a film. It is me and my heart, my upbringing that you see in the movie and love story.”
He continued, “I felt it like a pinch that an elderly man had to point it out to me. But I tried to make the best possible film that everyone will enjoy with the star cast. There is an unnecessary controversy about Gollabhama from Rangamma Mangamma, but there the word means Grasshopper and hope, people don’t derive their own meanings. I think all villages are like drama stages and hence, I put the title as a tribute to all villages as Rangasthalam. Devi Sri Prasad is like my brother and he gave me some of his best tunes again,” said the director. Producers from Mythri Movie Makers reiterated that movie will definitely release on 30th March.
