Samantha entered the glamour field or Film Industry, when heroines are typically seen as glamorous and glorified extras who come and go, into a film when film needs a break from serious stuff to introduce a song or just glam things up or to be ridiculed for comedy. Few films profoundly concentrated on giving equally important characters to heroines but none seemed to have skills to handle such characters either. After Soundarya, very few improved and performed close to her but TFI really needed an actress on whom they could depend on to carry romantic scenes without any doubt while being beautiful.
Samantha came as a blessing and truly made everyone say, “Ye Maaya Chesave” with her performance. But she did not just think that she arrived and let all of it slip through the cracks. She persevered and did a lot of hard work to land the best possible scenes right. Manam, Eega, Rangasthalam, Mahanati, U-Turn and Oh Baby, remain crown jewels in her career while Janatha Garage, Brundhavanam, A…Aa, Majili, Dookudu gave her the marketability and the name, “Apple Beauty”. We wish her all the success in future endeavors and a very happy birthday.
