Biography:

Zarin Shihab, an Indian actress, has appeared in various Malayalam and Hindi films as well as television shows. She gained recognition for her breakout role as Sahaya Mary, a nurse pivotal to the storyline, in the 2019 spy thriller series The Family Man. Originally from Uttar Pradesh, Zarin moved across states like Assam, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu due to her father’s career in the air force. Hindi was her first language, and she pursued a five-year integrated MA English program at IIT Madras, fostering her love for language and literature. Subsequently, she spent seven years in Chennai honing her skills in acting, writing, and directing plays. Zarin has a twin sister named Nazrin Shihab, and during her college years, she actively engaged in theatre and short film projects, dedicating seven years to theatrical pursuits.

In 2019, Zarin made her Hindi debut in The Family Man, streamed on Amazon Prime, garnering attention for her portrayal of a Malayali nurse. This led to significant roles in prominent Bollywood productions. She starred in Rashmi Rocket in 2021, directed by Akarsh Khurana, and India Lockdown in 2022, directed by Madhur Bhandarkar. She also received acclaim for her role in the TV series Jugaadistan, which delves into the gritty aspects of college life.

In 2023, Zarin ventured into Malayalam cinema with the film Trishanku, directed by Achyuth Vinayak, where she played the character Sumi Nair. The same year, she appeared in “B 32 Muthal 44 Vare,” directed by Shruthi Sharanyam, portraying the role of Iman. In 2024, she took on the lead role in the Malayalam film Aattam, directed by Anand Ekarshi. Her performances in Malayalam cinema, particularly in B 32 Muthal 44 Vare and Aattam, received acclaim at film festivals, where she depicted characters grappling with workplace harassment.
