It makes sense that Telugu band Chowraasta is releasing a song like “Padara Saami” in advance of their very first U.S. tour. According to multi-instrumentalist, composer, and vocalist Yashwanth Nag, “‘Padara Saami’ basically means, let’s go and explore the world.” The theme of the song is discovering and appreciating nature. The band, most known for songs like “Maya,” “Oorelipota Mama,” “Hey Johnny,” and “Kanche Leni Desam”—all of which will be included in their setlist in the U.S.—has been busking frequently between August and October. According to Nag, “Padara Saami” was written in early 2023 while they were performing on the streets, especially as a teaser for their busking documentary.
