Vishak Nair

Biography:

Vishak Nair was born on April 25, 1992, to S. Balachandran Nair and Jaya Balachandran. His formative years were spent in Sharjah, where he attended Delhi Private School for his education. He displayed a strong fascination for filmmaking from a young age, producing his own short films. After completing his schooling, he pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (B.Tech) from NITK Surathkal.

Vishak Nair embarked on his acting journey in 2016 with the Malayalam movie “Aanandam,” a coming-of-age narrative that gained both critical acclaim and commercial success. This marked his cinematic debut, and he subsequently took on roles in a series of other Malayalam films, such as “Chunkzz” (2017), “Puthen Panam” (2017), “Matchbox” (2017), “Chembarathipoo” (2017), and “Aana Alaralodalaral” (2017).

He continued his screen presence with appearances in “Lonappante Mamodeesa” (2019), “Kuttymama” (2019), “Chiri” (2021), and “Thimiram” (2021). He also ventured into the realm of web series, garnering acclaim for his performance in “Kili” (2021). Notably, he even directed a two-part music video for Aabha Hanjura’s song “Roshewalla,” which secured a place in Rolling Stone Magazine’s Top Ten Music Videos of 2019.

The year 2022 witnessed Nair’s entry into Bollywood through the film “Shabaash Mithu,” where he played a supporting role alongside Taapsee Pannu. He also made cameo appearances in Malayalam movies like “Hridayam” (where he was also involved as a Casting Director), “Wonder Women,” and “Dear Friend.”

Vishak took up the directorial role for the music video of Vineet Vincent’s “Colour,” which was met with enthusiastic critical reception upon its release.

Anticipated projects include his portrayal of Sanjay Gandhi in Kangana Ranaut’s much-awaited directorial “Emergency.” He is also set to feature in the Hindi film “Tejas,” directed by Sarvesh Mewara. Alongside his Bollywood commitments, Vishak is involved in several upcoming Malayalam films, including “Exit,” “LLB,” and “Shalamon.” Presently, he is actively engaged in Saiju Sreedharan’s directorial debut, where he assumes the lead role.
