Indian actor Vikram Prabhu first appeared in Prabhu Solomon’s Kumki (2012), a Tamil-language film. In the films Ivan Veramathiri (2013) and Vellaikaara Durai (2014), he also portrayed the lead role. He is the grandson of seasoned actor Sivaji Ganesan and the son of actor Prabhu.
Vikram agreed to work on a project that N. Linguswamy would produce and that Prabhu Solomon would oversee. Since the movie, Kumki, was centered around elephants, the director took Vikram to an elephant training facility in Ottapalam, Kerala, so he could become acclimated to the creatures.
Released in December 2012, the movie was met with both critical and financial acclaim, making it one of the year’s biggest hits. The “intensely emotional scenes in the climax” are where Prabhu shines, according to a critic, but “he is also at ease portraying angst, gratitude and rage”.
The reviewer concluded that he “is expected to carry on the Ganesan family lineage” in movies and added that “his physique is a major plus”. While working on Kumki, Vikram Prabhu started work on Sattam Oru Iruttarai, a Vijay-produced adaptation of the 1981 movie of the same name.
He started filming and portrayed a young man who is furious and believes there are problems with the justice system. Sneha directed the film, which got underway in May 2012. But because to Prabhu Solomon’s insistence on reshooting Kumki’s climax, the actor had to leave Sattam Oru Iruttarai during production; after a delay, a newbie took his place.
Kumar Thaman. Later, he agreed to star in M. Saravanan’s action thriller Ivan Veramathiri, where he played a student in a group cast that also included Vamsi Krishna and Ganesh Venkatraman. Positive reviews greeted the film’s December 2013 release. One critic noted that Vikram Prabhu “has to work on his dance a bit more, but is convincing as an action hero, especially in the raw and realistic climax fight scene.”
The action thriller Arima Nambi, which was helmed by Anand Shankar, A. R. Murugadoss’ associate director, was his first release of 2014. Later that year, he appeared in Gaurav’s family action entertainer Sigaram Thodu, which starred Sathyaraj and Monal Gajjar in addition to the actor in two different looks.
In 2014, he made his third film, Vellaikaara Durai, starring Sridivya and helmed by Ezhil. This was a romantic comedy that came out for Christmas 2014 and was deemed successful A. L. Vijay’s love comedy Idhu Enna Maayam was his next film in 2015. According to Rediff.com’s review, “actor Vikram Prabhu looks extremely awkward and out of place as a college student, despite his good performance.”
After completing his MBA program in San Diego, Vikram briefly returned to Chennai to assist with the development of Chandramukhi (2005), his family’s Sivaji Productions project The daughter of industrialist M. Madhivanan, Lakshmi Ujjaini, was married to Vikram on February 26, 2007.
