Biography:

Vijayalakshmi Feroz, originally named Vijayalakshmi Agathiyan, is an Indian actress primarily known for her work in Tamil language films. She made her debut as a child artist in the movie “Bhakta Dhruva Markandeya” and went on to work with prominent Telugu stars such as Balakrishna, Venkatesh, Rajendra Prasad, and Nagarjuna. She gained early recognition for her roles in films like “Chennai 600028” (2007) and “Anjathe” (2009). However, after a few lead roles in movies, she transitioned to becoming a film producer and actress in television serials. In 2021, she participated in the reality show Survivor Tamil and emerged as the winner.

Vijayalakshmi’s career took off when she was approached by director Venkat Prabhu to act in “Chennai 600028,” which became a surprise hit. Her role in “Anjathe” received favorable reviews, establishing her as a promising talent in the industry. Despite her early success, her subsequent films like “Adhe Neram Adhe Idam” and “Kattradhu Kalavu” did not perform well at the box office.

Following her marriage in 2015 to Feroz Mohammed, Vijayalakshmi expressed her intention to shift her focus from acting to film production. However, she made an exception by appearing in the sequel to her debut film, “Chennai 600028 II” (2016). She also ventured into film production with “Pandigai” (2017), directed by her husband Feroz.

In addition to her film career, Vijayalakshmi has appeared in television serials, including “Nayaki.” She also participated in reality shows like Bigg Boss Tamil 2 and Survivor Tamil, where she won the latter. Vijayalakshmi hails from a family with ties to the entertainment industry, including her father, director Agathiyan, and sisters, Kani Thiru and Niranjini, who are also involved in the entertainment field. Vijayalakshmi and Feroz have a son together, and they continue to observe their respective Hindu and Islamic faiths.
