Biography:

Vietnam Veedu Indian playwright, screenwriter, and director of motion pictures was Sundaram. His screenplays can be seen in movies like Gauravam, Vietnam Veedu, Gnana Oli, Satyam, Grihapravesam, Justice Gopinath, Naan Yen Pirandhen, Annan Oru Koyil, and Naalai Namadhe.

He is well-known for his family-themed flicks and has even directed a few. He has written narratives for movies in Hindi, Kannada, and Telugu. In addition, he performed in TV shows and movies.

In Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, Sundaram was born in 1943 to a lawyer father. In order to see Mahatma Gandhi at Island Grounds in Madras in 1945, his mother took him there. Even at an early age, he was forced to work in a factory due to his lack of education.

In 1955–1956, he started working as a machine operator at Dunlop Factory. He was concurrently employed as a service boy for Y.G. Parthasarathy, his spouse, and Pattu at United Amateur Artistes. That sparked his passion in movies and drama.

He creatively narrated real-life situations, turning them into an engaging tale. Among his pals, this helped him become a good storyteller. He gradually advanced in playwriting and theatrics. He quickly developed into a skilled conversation and scriptwriter.

He was the creative force behind the immensely popular play “Vietnam Veedu,” which is why his name is prefixed with that moniker. Vietnam Veedu Sundaram appeared in three films under the same names, all of which were acted by Nadigar Thilagam.

The Indian cinematic thespian Sivaji Ganesan The ‘creator’ of social mythology is him. Vietnam Veedu, Gnana Oli, Naan En Piranden, Naalai Namadhe, Satyam, Gruhapravesam, Justice Gopinath, Anaan Oru Koyil, Oru Malarin Payanam.

Navagraha Nayaki, Geethanjali, Aayiram Kannudayaal, Dharmam, Piranthen Valarthen, Nambinar Keduvathillai, Jallikattu, Raja Mariyadhai, Velundu Vinaiyillai, and Soora Samhaaram are some of the well-known films the author has written.

Also, he wrote the story for the Kannada movie Anupama. His story for the 1978 Hindi film Devata, which starred Sanjev Kumar in the lead role, brought him widespread recognition.

He portrayed the goddess in “Namma Veetu Deivam,” the first Tamil social mythology that was later translated into Malayalam, Telugu, and Kannada, starring the evergreen K. R. Vijaya. That started the trend of social mythology in movies and TV shows.

Having made over a dozen movies, he is highly renowned for his family-friendly themes; Gauravam, one of his films, became a cult favorite. Other languages have also seen the film adaptations of his stories.

He began starring in motion pictures in 1999.In 1998, he transitioned into acting for the small screen and has a number of television series to his name.

He has written screenplays for movies starring a number of well-known actors, such as Rajinikanth, M. G. Ramachandran, Sivaji Ganesan, Kamal Haasan, K. R. Vijaya, Sathyaraj, and Karthik.
