Veena Nandakumar

Biography:

Veena Nandakumar began her film career with the 2017 Malayalam movie Kadamkatha, directed by Senthil Raj. However, the film failed at the box office and did not bring her much recognition. She later made her Tamil cinema debut with Thodraa, portraying Divya, a wealthy young woman who falls in love with and elopes with a man from a lower caste. Her performance was described as “decent” by Anupama Subramanian of Deccan Chronicle.

Her major breakthrough came in 2019 with the Malayalam romantic drama Kettyolaanu Ente Malakha, where she played Rincy, a character she described as very restrained. Anna Mathews of Times of India noted that she portrayed the role with “just the right amount of restraint.”

In 2020, Veena appeared in supporting roles as Annie in the family drama Kozhipporu and as Haritha in the black comedy psychological thriller Love. Reviewing Kozhipporu for Times of India, Deepa Soman commented that Veena delivered a strong performance despite the limited scope of her role.
