Vasu Varma began his career as a director trainee for the S.V. Krishna Reddy-directed film Sakutumba Saparivaara Sametam. He later began working with V. V. Vinayak as an assistant director on his first movie, Aadhi, and eventually rose to the position of co-director. Varma has supported and served as a pillar for Dil Raju Productions’ direction department ever since the company’s debut film, “Dil,” and he has continued to do so. In 2009, Dil Raju gave Varma his first opportunity to direct a film, Josh, starring Naga Chaitanya (son of Nagarjuna). In the same film, he also made a second Karthika Nair (the daughter of legendary actress Radha) a star. He joined an exclusive group of directors with Josh by launching two star youngsters in a single film.
