In an interview, he acknowledged that reading books finally brought him wealth, which encouraged him to pursue better opportunities by going into the film industry. When he first started performing in movies, he was paid between INR 200 and 300 every picture. He started to gain recognition by taking on small, uncredited parts.
Additionally, he disclosed that he waited in line for movie casting in hopes of landing a role. He disclosed that he was among the crowd that assembled at the Idhayam (1991) and Aranmanai (2014) filming locations as a crowd artist. He played the part of an investigating officer in Sethupathi (2016), which was his first performance that garnered him notoriety. In the family thriller television series Ayali on ZEE5, he portrayed Dharmaraj, a fully realized villain.
